Trash The Dress Photography In Mexico | Khristena & Kelvin
When couples think of getting “their trash dress photography Mexico”, the first area that pops to mind is Playa del Carmen, together with the rest of the Riviera Maya. With its white sand, blue sea and skies and warm weather, the Mexican Caribbean is just perfect for the occasion. Plus, it offers the opportunity of having the Trash The Dress Photography in Mexico’s most stunning locations: Cenotes. We had so much fun shooting Khristena and Kelvin’s gorgeous beach Trash The Dress photos at the Valentin Imperial Maya! The natural, laid back couple had a gorgeous beach wedding ceremony in Mexico and chose to close the destination wedding trip with some fun Trash The Dress photography.
They shared their story with us…
Khristena: Although Kelvin was raised in the south and I in the north, we both had similar childhoods and grew up within large close-knit families alongside many brothers, sisters and cousins. Our parents did a great job instilling into us the value of keeping God and family first and the importance of hard work. We both were honor roll students and excelled in the classroom and I ran track and performed in high school musicals.
Khristena: Kelvin and I met at an airport during a layover in North Carolina. I was a Redskins Cheerleader returning from our calendar shoot in Aruba and Kelvin was returning home from visiting his family in North Carolina. We both were waiting for the same flight back to Maryland and sat a few seats away from each other. Our meeting was fate because Kelvin normally took early morning flights but that day he mistakenly booked a late evening flight. After mustering up enough courage I introduced myself and we shared a short but sweet conversation before boarding the flight. After landing we exchanged contact information and have been inseparable since.
And one day, he proposed…
Khristena: Kelvin came with me to go apartment hunting one Sunday afternoon. On our way to one of the apartments Kelvin took a detour to a quiet park where he proposed to me in a beautiful white gazebo. Kelvin told me I didn’t need to find an apartment of my own because he wanted to spend the rest of his life together with me. How romantic is that?
Choosing a Riviera Maya Destination Wedding
Khristena: We visited multiple wedding venues in our area and although many of them were beautiful, they were either too expensive or unavailable, or didn’t have the elements that were important to us. We had a difficult time deciding on a single venue but there was no question about how we wanted celebrate our honeymoon. We stumbled upon the idea of having a destination wedding while planning our honeymoon. We wanted an outdoor wedding with a romantic tropical feel and after seeing the beautiful photos of the Valentin Imperial Maya Resort there was no doubt that it was the perfect place to have our wedding.
Their trash dress photography Mexico, A destination wedding can be both intimate and fun
Khristena: We had an intimate wedding and everyone who attended were close friends and family. Our guests really made the wedding memorable, from the moment they landed we shared nothing but laughs, drinks, and danced the night away…. everyday!
Some memorable moments…
Khristena: The Valentin Imperial Maya was absolutely amazing from the food, service and amenities, to the adventurous excursion speeding through the forest on ATVs. Making the decision to have a Riviera Maya destination wedding was the best decision we could have made, our wedding day was transformed into a week long celebration with the most important people in our lives.

Destination wedding planning is easier with a little help from your friends…
Kelvin: My wife, Khristena, made our wedding day absolutely special. She worked very hard designing and creating the wedding decorations and stationary. Cari Redondo (A Work of Heart By Cari) collaborated with her on the wedding invitations. Khristena also created the programs, favors, reception decor and handcrafted her shoes and veil. Our travel agent, Linda Teves (Apple Vacations), was instrumental in helping us find the Valentin Imperial Maya.
Images that are worth a thousand words
K&K: If we had to choose just one favorite image from our Wedding and Trash Dress Photography Mexico, we wouldn’t be able to. All of the pictures came out beautiful, and there are too many to choose from… However, our Mexico Trash The Dress session images are amongst our favorites.
We had a great time photographing Khristena and Kelvin, their love for each other shines trough every image! We are honored that they shared their love story with us and glad that they are part of the WeddingDayStory Family!
