Rebekah & Steven’s Wedding Day Story
Life can be tough sometimes, but love will always be there to lift us up. Love will help us remember why we are here, and that the ones we love will always be there, by our side. For Rebekah & Steven, a wedding at their home would have been a little difficult, so they chose to write they Wedding Day Story in one of our beautiful destinations, Mexico’s Riviera Maya.
“I was born and raised in Frankfort, Ky. My parents always taught me to be kind to others and try to understand everyone’s situation. My mom and dad instilled the importance of hard work and education and to always have faith. Steven was born in Charleston, SC and moved to Idaho and then Washington state and finally settled in Paducah, Ky at 7 years old. Steven was taught working hard-earned your keep and to always strive to do his best.”
“Met online on a dating website.
We talked for a little bit and had our first date on December 8, 2012.”
The Place That Saw The Beginning And The Sealing Of This Wedding Day Story
“He proposed to me at the Valentin Imperial Maya. We had just bought a house together and I had just graduated from UK. He bought the ring before we moved in together and I accidentally found it while unpacking. I didn’t open it! I did have to carry the ring through customs though, on our way to the beach, so i knew it was coming. On our first day, Steven locked it up in the safe and we went for dinner. Afterwards, we went for a walk and end up on the beach. It was beautiful there and the moon was full. Steven ended up proposing there (without the ring!). I said YES and we went back to get the ring… and he proposed again.”
Ireland For The Honeymoon
“Both of my parents passed away last year and a wedding at home was very painful to think about since my Mom and Dad wouldn’t be there. We chose to get married where he proposed, on the beach. We look forward to more travel (Ireland for the honeymoon) and starting a family together. We just had 15 or 16 people coming to the wedding. All are very important to us.”
This Is Family
“My sister and her husband have already adopted steven as their own brother.
Clinton and steven are great friends now.”
Love Is In The Little Things
“I had my parents’ wedding rings tied around my bouquet and two seats in the front dedicated to them. Steven and clinton had circuit board cufflinks since they both work in computers. Everyone got a beach ball in their room and a lei when they arrived, plus sunblock at the wedding.”
