Cenote Trash The Dress Sessions In Riviera Maya
The WeddingDayStory Photographers absolutely love to do Cenote Trash the Dress sessions! These are sessions in which our clients wear their wedding attire after the day is over, to do some fun and crazy photos that they wouldn’t normally do on the wedding day itself.
We do sessions like these for engagement shoots, and we offer a unique and fun twist as well: underwater photography! Photo sessions in Cenotes are an amazing experience and a fun way to enjoy these particular spots, creating impressive images together at the same time. The Cenotes were sacred places for the Mayans, who called them “Xibalba,” or the entrance to the underworld. These mesmerizing underground waterholes of fresh water are surrounded in most cases by leafy jungle, and are great for snorkeling and scuba diving.
We have four different types of sessions available:
- Beach Sessions
- Cave Sessions
- Beach and Cave Sessions
- Beach, Cave and Cenote Sessions
The first two types will usually last about 2 hours, while the others take a total of approximately 3 hours.
The Sessions are designed so that you’ll feel pampered all the way through. Transportation and entrance fees, as well as a special license to shoot in these locations, are all included. And, while we go from one place to the other, we’ll even stop by in beautiful Paamul Beach for refreshments and a few drinks!
You can check out this post for some tips on our sessions. We recommend bringing some water shoes or sandals to keep your feet safe from “surprises,” and we also recommend some waterproof makeup so it don’t accidentally run!
We’d also note that you probably shouldn’t opt for an underwater session if you are scared of fish or water (some of the fish are quite curious!), but you don’t have to be a professional swimmer or diver—we will ensure your safety.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our Trash the Dress sessions—it’s going to be a blast!
