Megan & Anthony’s Valentin Riviera Maya Wedding
Anthony and Megan got married in a beautiful Valentin Riviera Maya Wedding ceremony in the shores of the Mexican Caribbean. Anthony grew up in the suburbs outside of Chicago, and Megan in a small town in Illinois. Both are blessed with loving families that instilled in them very important values, such as hard work and kindness. The fun, laid-back couple used to be neighbors: they lived two doors down from each other and constantly met in the elevator of their apartment building. It was instant attraction, and shortly after, they went on their first date.
One day, while cleaning up the house, Megan noticed that Anthony seemed nervous. She knew something was up… Turns out, he popped the question right then and there! It was perfect, because they don’t really like to be the center of attention. He had planned a whole night with her in Chicago to celebrate, and invited both of their sisters to meet up for drinks!
They chose to have a Valentin Riviera Maya Wedding because neither of them ever pictured themselves having a traditional wedding; they knew from the beginning that they wanted to do something different. They loved the idea of having the immediate family be part of the wedding ceremony, and then having a party afterwards (once they got back to Illinois) with the rest of their close friends and loved ones. Their beautiful ceremony turned out exactly as they wanted it, and it was very easy to plan!
We loved Anthony & Megan’s vibe. While many might worry about the seaweed that has been appearing in the shores of the Caribbean, they thought it made the beach look even more beautiful. They said it adds dimension and color to the beach, and we agree!
Megan’s parents – Dawn and Greg, as well as her sister Jackie and her boyfriend Michael joined the couple in this very special time. So did Anthony’s parents John and Deb, his sister Nicole, and a good friend of Anthony, Clint… Between the both, a love story was born, making this Valentin Riviera Maya wedding even more magical! Clint has been a good friend of Anthony’s and his family for many years. The couple always thought he would make a great match Nicole, but they were just friends up until the destination wedding trip. It seems like something clicked for them in Mexico, as they have been dating since.
The bride’s dress was from BHLDN, a line from Anthropologie, which she recommends for any destination or casual wedding ceremony. Their dresses have a vintage-y yet simple vibe that is perfect for a natural, sun-drenched wedding at the beach.
We asked them about WeddingDayStory and their Valentin Riviera Maya wedding experience, and this is what they had to say:
WeddingDayStory did a fantastic job. We are not crazy about having our pictures taken, but our photographer made it painless and we even had fun, especially climbing up into the lifeguard stand! It was super convenient to be able to pick what pictures we wanted online and download or have the prints sent to us. I can’t recommend Valentin Imperial Maya’s wedding department enough and the whole resort as a destination wedding location. We had the best time, and the staff was very accommodating. We didn’t have to worry about anything: they had it all covered.
