Destination Wedding Photography In Riviera Maya | Linda & Noeh

It is always nice to go back to our roots and remember our family’s origins, in order to understand why we do or like certain things. This is why it was so easy for us to relate with Linda & Noeh’s story. When shooting destination wedding photography Riviera Maya, we are usually the proud hosts, and are always excited about sharing the details of our wonderful home with our Wedding Day Story Brides and Grooms… however, in this case, this was not even necessary! Their family had roots in Mexico, so the setting they chose for their day in the sun was to them as important as it is for us.

Their background

They are both from Hobbs, New Mexico which is where many of their memories were made. Half of Noehs childhood memories where made in Chihuahua, Mexico with his grandmother. He enjoyed living in the ranch and helping with the farm animals. While in Hobbs, he had many mischievous adventures with his cousins which her brand new wife says are always fun to hear! Noeh learned the importance of work at a young age since he had to help his dad which showed him valuable skills that he now is able to use as an adult. Linda, was the youngest of eight and first born in the United States. She was very shy as a child and got away with everything as she was the youngest. She enjoyed riding her bike and playing outdoors with her friends. Linda learned at a young age the value of family, love and was taught that education and hard work will pay off in life.

How they met

Noah & Linda had mutual friends during their high school years but didn’t know each other until later on as adults. Linda was having lunch with a good friend at a favorite burger joint when a young, a tall man walked in to order his meal. While he waited for his order, they both made eye contact but at the time the burger tasted too good to interrupt a good meal! Ha! His order was ready, he picked it up and walked out. Linda and her friend noticed the guy coming back in shortly after to the restaurant and he walked up to the table with the (according to Linda) cheesiest pick up line ever! “Excuse me, I don’t do this often but can I get your number?” Linda and her friend chuckled as they had food in their mouth. After short small talk, Linda gave him a phone number. Not really thinking he’d call, she gave the correct number and he called the same night!

Their proposal story

Linda: We are very different, Noeh loves to do things big but knowing I can be shy he picked the ring and asked me in private. A few weeks later during Christmas he announced to my family and the planning began!

About their destination wedding photography Riviera Maya

Linda: We both had been married before and we wanted to do something different. Noeh always said he wanted to marry in Mexico, but he never mentioned where. After talking with family about our next family vacation my niece mentioned a destination wedding. We looked at each other and I told him, you do want to get married in Mexico so why not go somewhere beautiful? He loved the idea and we selected Playa Del Carmen, Mexico! The best part of the day for Noeh was watching me walk down the aisle. For me, the best part of the day was seeing Noeh smile as I walked down the aisle looking handsome as ever. Nobody seemed to be there at that very moment except he and I. It was such a beautiful and peaceful feeling that we both cherish, and love to talk about.

A big destination wedding celebration in Mexico

Linda: We had approximately 30 immediate family members and close friends with us that were able to be a part of our seven day celebration in the sun. Each day we had with the family and friends were very special moments that we now can treasure forever. There are truly no words that could explain the gratitude we felt to have so many loved ones surrounding us and supporting us. Love was definitely shown by each, and many beautiful memories were made. We are very thankful for all that attended and those that were unable to be present but sent their good wishes our way.

Vendors that made the day extra special

L: Karim at the Viva Wyndham Maya was fabulous. He was always available prior to our arrival and once we were at the resort we were taken care of. The day of our wedding we didn’t feel stress or anxiety because everything was being done. The staff at the dinner made sure everyone had full glasses at all times. We can’t forget the DJ, who played a lot of our favorite music. Last but not least, the minister had all the right words for us! A special thanks to our WeddingDayStory Photographers, who captured priceless moments.
